The LWB 4EB brakes are electrically applied service-only load wheel brakes positioned inside the front wheel and actuated by the driver. These are stationary, single-face brakes with zero backlash, designed for dry use. When the coils is energized by a DC voltage a magnetic field is generated which attracts the armature disc to the magnet assembly. The armature disc is connected to a rotating member of the drive. Various brake configurations are available to suite different drive installation requirements.
